I love my bear but recently I have experienced people who have come across Rainbow Bear refer to my business as a business aimed at children. Of course that’s part of what I do and I love offering pretty things and meaningful things for the little ones but I’m also very much a brand for grown ups who love colour, smiling and making others smile too.
When I started my brand I knew I wanted it to be distinctive, have recognisable colours and graphics that you would see and think oh that’s “Rainbow Bear” straight away, I used a pastel pallet of lilac, turquoise and pink and stuck to those three main colours for the first few months when it came to using social media but it became (dare I say it) boring and I wanted more colour on my page and for it to “pop” more and let’s be honest if you have rainbow in your name it’s only right you live up to it.
So over time I have introduced and used more colour, the lilac is still the staple for me, the main brand colour; used on my website throughout and in my packaging and a sprinkle everywhere else. But I love the yellows, the blues, the greens all of the other colours just as much.
When I stood back and looked at my stall at the first market I did recently and…I got it, it’s the bear! There are some weird and wonderful names out there that have cross overs between demographics but they don’t use imagery along with the name a lot.
So here I am wondering whether to get rid of my bear?! Obviously the name will remain the same because it’s named after my children but maybe it’s time for a rebrand. Introduce the rainbow colours officially and take the chance (as I am nearing the end of some of my packaging cards etc) to come up with Rainbow Bear Gifting 2.0; an official new logo and packaging to reflect it.
I have been playing around for the last couple of weeks with the idea on Canva and Pro-create so watch this space. It will never be bye-bye bear maybe just let him hibernate somewhere nice and snug away from the logo! 😂
So here’s a little wish for the week ahead based on the rainbow;
This week some moments or days may feel a bit blue, that’s ok always remember your not alone others feel the blue too.
Cherish the bright yellows, ignore the angry reds and feel the peace with green, things are never as bad as they seem.
I hope this week is kind to you.
Big love & bear hugs
