Goodness me my last blog post was 1st July!! It's been over two months since I last caught up with you all and told you what I have been getting up to!
How do I summarise the last 8 weeks or so?! Crazy! But let's try and break it down:
- Two glorious weeks in Portugal, in the most amazing villa (holiday sponsored by Pete Woodward - my Dad) our first holiday without my Mum returning to where we go to every other year, mixed emotions, many laughs, and lots of fund and sun. My Dad is a legend โค๏ธ I won't get all gushy on here, he probably won't even read this but he is the least gushy person ever, he refers to it as "verbal diarrhea" so I know I get my love of words and language from my Mum! But I just have to say I love him and I am so bloody proud of him and how he has carried on with life trying to find a new norm after losing Mum. Anyway more about the holiday; myself, Dad and Dan (my husband) ran into Dec (as in Ant and Dec) well, I say ran into I spotted him and Dan said "let's get a pic for Josh, he will love it" I thought it was too cringe but he made me feel guilty so I let him do it and then basically said I wanted to be part of the picture and ended up in-between my husband and Dec having a good old laugh with him! My Dad was amused at our excitement of meeting him and said to Dec "I don't even know why they are getting excited, you're not even a footballer" - classic Pete!
- After two weeks in paradise it was back down to earth with a bang, my Mum's anniversary of her passing the day after we returned from holiday. I'd arranged for some highland cow cookies (her fave thing - highland cows not cookies) to be delivered to my friend so I could have them on the anniversary and we all went and sat and spoke to her at her tree whilst eating our cookies and we left one for her. Dec didn't turn up for that event unfortunately ๐ but it was a beautiful and the best way to mark the day.
- Followed by brother's birthday, both of my children's birthdays (3 days apart), our wedding anniversary and my nieces birthday all within 12 days! After the stress of having my children's birthdays so close, 2 parties and a lot of late nights and high emotions tonsillitis followed and so did missing out on one go my bestie's 40th's that I had helped to arrange! ๐
- And after that the summer holidays gave me palpitations, anger, love, fun, no patients, resentment and laughter...in no particular order! They are just a rollercoaster and trying to work and fit everything in is something I still struggle with but I made it, they went back to school last week and the week ended with reuniting a lost (well abandoned) dog with its owner, bit of a story to that one but I won't go on anymore!
In regards to Rainbow Bear well I slotted some events and markets in over the holidays and really enjoyed them, I've done well and I'm raring to go for the rest of the year, I'll share my future market dates on instagram so go give me a follow if you don't already!
I've started designing my xmas stuff, I need to get that to print, I love xmas but its so strange thinking about it now, I used to work in retail so got used to that but I have to admit you get to a point where you go I'm a little xmas'ed out, although now I'm older with kids that's not an option which is good, it's so magical though their eyes, I love it!
Well that's all folks...for now, I feel like we have caught up and next week we can go back to normal!
Have a fab week guys.
Big love & bear hugs
Di
